Private Tuition
Students take a weekly 30, 45 or 60 minute private class in any instrument or voice.
All practical exams are held at Mezzo and examiners from RIAM and Trinity College London visit us to examine our students.
We also offer tuition in rock, pop, contemporary, jazz, blues and many other genres of music and Trinity Rock and Pop exams are available to students who favour them.
Theory Classes
Research has shown that attending a theory class enhances results in graded instrument exams and improves a students overall understanding of music and the reasoning behind it.
Students can sit graded exams and achieve relevant qualifications.

Jam Sessions
Students attending Jam Sessions should play at least 1 instrument they take lessons in, outside of the sessions, and are encouraged to improvise, be creative, and take part in song writing and arranging.
Often students are only taught how to read and reproduce music. Improvising trains your ear to hear and identify if you’re producing the sounds you intended, or not. Playing off the cuff, helps a student to train their ears, to recognise patterns and scales and teaches you to think ahead.
Apart from fostering creativity, and allowing students to express themselves, the classes are also fun and motivating, taught by musicians/songwriters and run all through the academic year.
Band Workshops
We are an inclusive school and encourage teens to play together as a group, and build confidence while sharing creative ideas.
Our Teen Band Workshops for ages 12-14 and 15-18 take place over Midterm, Easter and Summer Holidays.
If you play drums, electric, acoustic or bass guitar, keyboards or if you sing, we will find a place for you in the band.
All students are encouraged to play off the cuff, be creative, improvise and take part in song writing and arranging.
